Job Description:
- We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer / Data Architect Advisor to serve as a trusted consultant to our clients—facilitating data-focused discussions, analyzing complex business challenges, and designing scalable, cloud-based solutions.
- The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and the ability to engage directly with senior stakeholders to drive strategic, data-driven outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Advisory & Engagement
- Act as a strategic advisor in customer discussions, translating business challenges into actionable data and technology strategies.
- Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders to assess data requirements and solution options.
- Present findings, recommendations, and solution roadmaps in clear business terms to executive and technical audiences.
Data Architecture & Engineering
- Review, assess, and design modern data models, architectures, and pipelines—ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Evaluate existing data environments and recommend improvements aligned with cloud best practices.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement data frameworks, integrations, and governance strategies.
Cloud & Technical Expertise
- Design and optimize data solutions leveraging AWS cloud services (e.g., Redshift, Glue, Athena, S3, Lambda, Lake Formation).
- Provide architectural oversight and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategies and AWS reference architectures.
- Advise clients on data migration, modernization, and integration within hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
Client Leadership & Quality Assurance
- Draw upon consulting experience to deliver high-quality, insight-driven recommendations.
- Mentor internal teams and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practice development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data analytics roles.
- Proven consulting experience at a Big 4 or mid-to-large consulting firm, advising enterprise clients.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services for data management and analytics.
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data integration architectures.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business language.
- Demonstrated ability to lead client discussions, influence decisions, and build trusted advisor relationships.
Preferred:
- Experience with additional cloud platforms (Azure, GCP) or data technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, etc.).
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management tools.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
